Natalie’s Meat Loaf
This is my “gold standard” for meatloaf. That, and a pile of mashed potatoes, and I am happy.
Ingredients
- 2 pounds of ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 cup soft bread crumbs
- 1 egg
- ¼ cup chili sauce
- 4 Tablespoons Tomato paste
- 1 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon. Mrs. Dash
- 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 bay leaves
Instructions
- Mix all ingredients except the bay leaves.
- Shape into a loaf in a shallow baking pan.
- Tuck a bay leaf under each end of the loaf.
- Spread some tomato paste on the top of the loaf.
- Bake 1 hour at 350° or until brown.
- Discard the bay leaves before serving.
